Cashew Grades Decoded: W180, W210, W240 and What They Mean for Taste

A clear guide to white-whole cashew grades — from the rare W180 “king” nuts to everyday W320 — so you buy texture and roast performance, not marketing labels.

Cashew Grades Decoded: W180, W210, W240 and What They Mean for Taste

Cashew grading looks cryptic until you realise the number is simply how many whole white kernels fit in a pound. Lower number = larger nuts. That single fact unlocks every shelf label from Goa to Vietnam.

The grades that matter

  • W180 — Rare “king” cashews. Plump, dramatic on a gift tray, excellent for slow roasting.
  • W210 — Premium entertaining size. Our most requested grade for corporate hampers.
  • W240 — The sweet spot for daily snacking: generous size, reliable crunch.
  • W320 — Everyday whole nuts; still excellent when freshness is protected.

Size is not the only quality signal

Colour, moisture, and broken percentage matter as much as grade. A dull grey W180 that has sat in humid warehouses will taste flatter than a freshly packed W240. We prioritise recent roast dates, vacuum integrity, and origin traceability over vanity sizing.

For festive platters, choose W180 or W210. For cooking and weekday bowls, W240 delivers the best value without sacrificing the signature buttery snap.
