How Much Dry Fruit Should You Eat in a Day?

A simple, practical portion guide: one small handful, a few dates and a sensible mix — plus easy ways to build the habit.

How Much Dry Fruit Should You Eat in a Day?

Nuts and dried fruit are nourishing, but they are also energy-dense, so portions matter. This is the simple routine our team follows. (It is general guidance, not medical advice — if you have a specific health condition, check with your doctor.)

The one-handful rule

About 30 g of mixed nuts a day — roughly a small closed handful — is a sensible everyday amount for most adults. That is around 6 almonds, 4 cashews, 3 walnut halves and a few pistachios.

Dried fruit

Dried fruit is naturally sweet, so keep it to two or three dates, or a tablespoon of raisins or chopped figs. Our Anjeer (Dried Figs) and Golden Kishmish are easy additions to porridge.

Make it a habit

  • Morning: five soaked Mamra almonds.
  • Breakfast: a spoon of Orchard Breakfast Blend over oats or yoghurt.
  • Afternoon: a small bowl of roasted makhana instead of biscuits.

A jar of Assorted Trail Mix on your desk makes it easy — as long as the lid goes back on after one handful.
